Pictured about 1905 these two lovely, smiley sisters are Agnes and Ebba Abrahamson. Both were born in Rock Island, Illinois. Their father Lars immigrated from Sweden with his parents and siblings in 1868. Lars was the first cousin of my great grandfather Robert Albin Abrahamson and it was Lars who was most likely the motivating factor for my grandmother Lydia and great Aunt Ruth to choose the Rock Island/Moline Illinois area as their destination. The family assisted both Lydia and Ruth in finding employment in their new home.

Ebba played the piano at my grandparents wedding. Perhaps grandma Lydia named her daughter Ebba in admiration of this cousin?
