By law in the U.S., to protect the privacy of individual citizens, census records are not released until 72 years have passed. This year, 2022, the 1950 census was released.

This northside Chicago neighborhood in 1950 was not near as heavily Scandinavian as it was a few years back. In fact my Norwegian grandparents lived just 2 blocks down this very street when they first arrived in Chicago in 1923.
