Prompt #10 (Mar 5-Mar 11): "Translation" - Swedish, Norwegian and German Records

Genealogy or Family History has been a bit more difficult for me than some because my husband was German born and my family is very recently from Norway and Sweden. Records obviously are not in English, No worries.

I was a nurse before I retired and I found it advantageous to pick up a little Spanish. By no means am I conversational but I learned a few phrases and words that were useful to me in helping my Spanish speaking patients. Buenas noches, mi nombre es Ranae, seré su enfermera esta noche. ¿Tienes dolor? I called it "Medical Spanish". 

Well now I am pretty good at "Genealogy Swedish, Norwegian and German". I can recognize what type of vital record a document is as I know basic words such as born, baptized, married, widowed, died etc. It also helps that English, German, Swedish and Norwegian are all in the same group of languages, the Germanic languages. There are some common or close to common words. If all else fails there is good old Google Translate.

This record was made after the death of my great grandfather Robert Albin Abrahamson. It certifies the birth and position of his wife, my great grandmother Anna Karolina, for the inheritance of his estate.
