One Hundred years ago today on December 24, 1917
my great aunt Ruth Abrahamsson married Andrew Olof Soderstrom.
Christmas Eve, was that an odd date to choose?
Perhaps not as Uncle Sam would soon be shipping Andrew off to Europe,
where he would serve in the U.S. Cavalry in WWI.
In spite of the fears the young bride most certainly faced,
Andrew did return and they had another forty-three years together.
