52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - #21 "Brick Wall" - The Bio Father of Robert Albin Abrahamson

Prompt #21 (May 21-May 27): "Brick Wall" - The Bio father of Robert Albin Abrahamson

My grandfather Richard's family and my grandmother Lydia's maternal family can be traced back as far as there are Swedish  Records.  My grandmother Lydia's paternal grandfather, Edvard Julius Abrahamsson, outwardly attested to being only the adoptive father of Lydia's father Robert Albin. Who was his father?

For generations the family story was that King Oscar II had fathered Robert Albin. DNA proved, to the consternation and disbelief of many family members, that Oscar II was not the bio father. DNA does not lie. However DNA is most likely the only way to connect to the bio father of Robert Albin.

There are a few reasons this will be difficult. The Y-DNA most likely carried by Robert Albin is most common in Finland. I and my Abrahamson cousins who have tested all have Finnish connections, but none yet, that we know of, in common. European connections often match DNA but have no family tree to research.  We also are searching for 3rd to 5th cousins matches to link us to the elusive great great grandfather. Not a lot of DNA is shared at that level.

DNA connection to King Oscar?

In genealogy, the term "Brick Wall" is often used to refer to tough research problems, apparent dead-ends that after many hours of searching still yield no answers.

  But I am still searching,

From Amy Johnson Crow, a genealogist, far more experienced then I. "The data that we've accumulated in our genealogy software and in our binders and folders doesn't do a whole lot of good just sitting there. We need to do something with it." Each week she sends out a prompt to share a bit about an ancestor, collateral relative, or family friend.
